“Messi is a phenomenon. He does incredible things with the ball at his feet.”

Donis (coach APOEL)

I believe congratulations are in order.

Lionel Messi became the top scorer of the Champions League with 74 goals and it only took him 91 games to get there.

Fresh from becoming the top scorer of the La Liga over the weekend with a hat trick, Lionel Messi went and shatter the CL top scorer record with a hat trick last evening in Cyprus against APOEL.

APOEL walked with their bus and although they fought well defensively, they were bound to get done in for. In the 27′ Suarez took a pass from Alba and right footed home his first competitive goal for Barςa. In the 38′ Rafinha tried his luck at goal, but somehow, Leo got on the end of that and turned it pass the goalie for his first right-footed goal of the night.

Leo struck goal again in the 58′ after Alves played him an incisive pass. It was another right-footed goal. Leo’s 3rd right-footed goal came in the 87′ when Pedro cut the ball back for him.

What can I say about Messi? The man breaks records set by legends and he is rewriting the history books one goal at a time. Atta Leo!
