“Barcelona’s line-up surprised us, but their system wasn’t decisive. Their players were.”
– Laurent Blanc
FC Barcelona played a great game at the Camp Nou earlier to beat Paris Saint-Germain 3-1 to top Group F with 15 points.
Zlatan happily opened the score board in the 15th minute with a superb 12 yards effort. His momentum came to an end 4 minutes later when Messi met a Suarez cross for his 75th CL goal. Edinson Cavani had a go at goal and probably should have done better to put PSG ahead once again, but ter Stegen made the save. Barça took the lead through a Neymar blinder in the 41st minute.
Ten minutes after restart, Luis Suarez had the ball in the back of the net but the whistle had already gone for a handball against him. Suarez would eventually get his goal in the 77th minute for the 3-1 lead. That goal was his first at home, his 2nd in the CL.
This victory for the Catalan giants means PSG is now beaten for the first time this season. PSG looked mighty dangerous when they had the ball and Enrique might come under fire for his experiments by fans, but we secured the victory.
Tune in Monday for the 1/8 draw.
