Thierry Henry retires from professional football

“I am at peace with what I have done in the game. I have no regrets.”

Thierry Henry has announced that he is retiring from professional football to focus on punditry, signing a contract with Sky Sports to become a pundit. (via @GFN_France)

Henry’s announcement was met by mixed reactions on social sites, most of them still hurting over his handball incident. Just like most now laugh at Maradona’s handball over England, some people need to get over it. It’s football. Not every player or referee for that matter is going to be honest. France has suffered over the years and in my opinion, that was some good karma.

Thank you Henry for representing France and for the joy you give us during your professional career. Enjoy your retirement as a footballer and life anew as a pundit.
