Spurs, get on up and give yourselves a healthy round of applause!
Spurs came up HUGE to dismantle Chelsea in a spectacular 5-3 victory at the Lane. I was expecting a Spurs victory, but not by so many. I was expecting Spurs to win 3-2, but I’ll take this one.
When Chelsea visited the Lane today, they weren’t expecting fireworks from their opponents. Chelsea went ahead in the 18′ through a tap in by Costa. Oscar almost doubled the advantage, but in the 30′ Spurs leveled things up through Harry Kane in the 30′. Two minutes before half time, Rose slammed home the 2nd and just before the half time whistle, Kane was fouled, a penalty was awarded and Townsend beat Courtois to give Spurs a beautiful 3-1 lead.
If anyone thought Spurs was going to sit back and protect their precious 3-1 lead, they were dead wrong.
Kane claimed his brace in the 52′ leaving Courtois helpless. The fight back for the men in blue came through Hazard in the 61′ after he caught Fazio in possession. The 75′ could have been disaster for Spurs, but Hugo Lloris did brilliant to keep out Azpilicueta’s strike. Yes, Spurs are indebted to him.
Man of the hour, Kane and Chadli combined for Spurs’ 5th and final goal. AND WHAT AN AWESOMELY WELL STRUCK GOAL FROM SIR CHADLI!!
John Terry scored in the 87′ but the damage was already done.
This Spurs’s 5-3 defeat is Mourinho’s joint highest defeat of his managerial career with the other time being FC Barcelona beating his Real Madrid 5-0.
Spurs have made their fans proud and they’ve made me happy with this victory, simply because I know what they’re capable of when they’re really playing well. More of this please, Spurs.
