Didier Deschamps extends contract

Les Bleus head coach, Didier Deschamps, has signed a new contract that he will see out after the 2018 World Cup. Deschamps, who took charge of the French national team in July 2012, replacing Laurent Blanc, has been credited for bringing Les Bleus back to their feet.

Here is a statement from the French Football Federation:

“Following a proposal from president Noël Le Graët, the executive committee of the FFF has decided to extend the contract of France head coach Didier Deschamps until the next World Cup in 2018 in Russia.”

However, I am skeptical when it comes to football coaches. I mean, if he performs bad at Euro 2016, I am certain the FFF won’t hesitate to replace him with someone else. Nevertheless, I am delighted with this piece of news and I hope DD continues to achieve things with France.

My heart simply beats football.
