Julien Quercia has retired

Lorient FC announced on their official website that attacker Julien Quercia is set to retire at the age of 28.

In 2011, Quercia suffered a serious knee injury and hasn’t been right ever since. He last played a professional game for Lorient under two years ago. Quercia retired with these words,

“It is with great sadness that I bring my career to an end this way. It’s a very difficult moment, but football has still brought me great moments of joy.”

Ah, Quercia, it’s a shame, yes, but thank you for gracing us with your presence. I trust that retirement at this early age will be kind to you and you’ll find something else to love that will put a smile back on that handsome face. All the best.

My heart simply beats football.
