CL round-up: Barcelona and Porto too hot to handle

Paris Saint-Germain v FC Barcelona - UEFA Champions League Quarter Final: First Leg

Barcelona and Porto proved to be too hot to handle last evening.

Cavani and company couldn’t keep Barcelona in their pockets enough to make a meal out of them. A tantalizing lay-off from Messi for Neymar in the 18th minute saw Barcelona take the lead. Great vision from Leo! Suarez scored a fine solo goal in the 67th minute and Mascherano assisted him for his brace in the 79th minute. Suarez simply made a fool out of Luiz. Mathieu gave away an own goal in the 82nd minute, but he has been having a great season, so I can forgive him for that.

This 3-1 victory do give Barcelona a good advantage, but this victory means that the Catalan team has ended PSG’s 33 match unbeaten home run in continental competitions. Barcelona came, they played and they broke hearts.

As for the other game, Bayern Munich was beaten 3-1 on Porto’s turf. I did not watch this game in its entirety, but Porto was having a really good game based on what I saw. The second round of both matches are going to be pretty exciting!
