What is Olivier Giroud synonymous with? Great looks, fashion and, of course, hair.
Although Giroud prides himself on looking good, the Frenchman want people to focus on what he does for the team. He was annoyed during a recent interview telling the reporter:
‘I don’t want to speak any more about my appearance, my hair or anything, I get p***** about that. ‘I don’t know (if I am an animal). I know one thing, in sport you have to question yourself every week and be ready in your head and you have to be at 100 percent of determination if you want to keep going and win games, you cannot afford to be at 80 or 90 per cent.’
However, some people think he misinterpreted a question about Wenger praising his animal instincts. There is only one person to blame for this: the English reporter. Although exposed to the English and their culture, Giroud is still very much French, mind you, and there will be many times when he doesn’t understand something.
On a serious note, Giroud is important to both Arsenal and France. It was a real shame about the 3-month injury which set him back. Wenger knows he’s a great asset and that’s why he’s sticking with his man amidst the dour criticism from Arsenal fans. He’s done brilliantly this season, but do they give him the credit he deserves? No. They whine and whine and whine about wanting a world class striker before they pour all their whining energy into supporting the team 100%. In my opinion, he is still underrated, but he can also do much better, something I hope to see next season.
On a lighter note, Giroud, we appreciate what you do for both Arsenal and France, but we also like your varying hairstyles and it’s not that big of a crime. Pipe down. You can’t help if you’re gorgeous and if you don’t want us looking at your hair, here’s a simple solution: wear a brown paper bag.
