17th May 2015 – Barcelona wins La Liga at Calderon.

The Calderon is a difficult stadium to win in and that’s why this 1-0 victory was sweeter than honey.

Barcelona received a corner in the 4th minute, but nothing came from it. Early pressure from Atleti almost paid off inside the opening ten minutes and they could have gone ahead twice. In the 11th minute, Messi shoots only to see the goalie make the save. In the 13th, Leo made a great header-contact from an Alves cross, but once again, Oblak was there. Things escalated after this as Barcelona dominated possession. By the time the 18th minute rolled around, a motivated Leo had a hat-trick of attempted chances. Both teams had a go at each other, but when the whistle went for half time, it was scoreless after an electrifying first half.

The second half was equally entertaining.

We had to wait until the 65th minute when Pedro provided the assist for the opener via who else? Leo. With that goal, Leo had won us the La Liga title with one more game to go against Deportivo.

This is our 23rd title and I am super proud of the team this season. They deserve it.
