André-Pierre Gignac proves to be a shrewd signing as new side reaches Copa Libertadores final for the first time

When André-Pierre Gignac left the Ligue 1 for Tigres, I was flabbergasted at the bizarre transfer, but it looks like the Frenchman is enjoying himself at his new home.

Last evening, Tigres became the third Mexican side to reach the Copa Libertadores final after beating Internacional 4-3 on aggregate with Gignac scoring a lovely header to tie things up at 2-2. Tigres will face Argentina’s River Plate next week in the final. It is the first time that Tigres has reached a Copa Libertadores final.

My heart simply beats football.
