Sam Allardyce has resigned as England manager last evening. The 61-year-old was caught trying to use his position to earn extra money on the side and even had the bold audacity to dish out advice on how to get around the Football Association (FA) transfer rules.
The resignation makes him the shortest-serving England manager of all time after just one game in charge. Allardyce blames it on “an error of judgement” and “entrapment has won”, but it was his very own greed that cost him his dream job.
Gareth Southgate will take interim charge of England for their next four matches while the Three Lions hope to find a proper replacement.
NOTE: Some news reports said that Sam was sacked while others said that he resigned. Whichever one it is, he is not the manager anymore.
