The road to Russia seem impossible, but then Messi intervened.
On the 10th of the 10th month, the world’s greatest number 10 gave a 10/10 performance.
What is Argentina without Lionel Messi? I’ll tell you: nothing.
Where I work, a co-worker was saying that we should get ready to see an Argentina-less World Cup, but I laughed because I just knew Messi was going to get the last word against Ecuador and he certainly did in the 3-1 victory over the Ecuadorians last evening.
Some bitter people are saying to stop saying that Leo single-handedly took Argentina to the World Cup. I know he did not play alone against 11 players, but Leo was the only player to score a competitive goal for Argentina in 11 months. HE SCORED THE WINNING GOALS. Argentina struggled to qualify. Had Messi not played like a man on fire last evening, Argentina was not going to Russia. And yet, they treat him like dirt.
Leo has mad love for his beloved Argentina, but his teammates need to wake up and smell the coffee. Their talisman can’t always save their hides. I am tired of seeing him rescue Argentina again and again. That is too much pressure to lay on the shoulders of one man. Whenever Argentina loses, they blame Leo instead of the team. When they need to get out of a tight spot, they look towards Leo.
It is high time that the team repays him at Russia 2018!
Watch his wicked hat trick below. The third goal was my favorite.
“Little Boss” scores his first goal for FC Barcelona
It took him seven years to get his goal, but Javier Mascherano made no mistake when he took the penalty last evening against Osasuna which gave Barcelona their 100th goal of the season. Rakitic revealed that he wanted to take the penalty, but Pique told him to let Masche take in. In the end, Rakitic revealed that he was pleased with the decision.
Last evening, FC Barcelona ran rampant at the Camp Nou winning 7-1 to pile pressure on Real Madrid who has a game inside and won’t be looking to lose anytime soon. The last time Real won the league was back in 2012 and this season, they’re not going to go away quietly. They want the league.
Aside from Mascherano scoring his first goal for Barcelona, Messi, Paco and my boy Gomes scored a brace apiece. Gomes made his haters sit down and some of them even had to admit that he have future FCB potential. This is something that I’ve been saying all along. He has potential. He doesn’t need the silly boos everytime he steps on the pitch in the Catalan stripes. All he needs is confidence and the fans are being hard on him. I am tired of him being the scapegoat. I see pass the incredibly nice hair, the great looks, and contagious smile. I see a player (with lots of potentials. Yes, I am stressing on that ‘p’ word!) whenever I see him step on the pitch.
Gomes was my Man of the Match. I am very pleased with his performance. I was happy when I saw Digne in the starting XI.
And I like the bromance that Gomes and Pique have going on. Pique was the one who told Barcelona boo boys to ‘stay at home’ instead of turning up to boo Gomes. Pique is like his big brother.
I’m a sucker for friendship. 🙂
And although Gomes might never share what Neymar has with Messi…
…it’s nice to see them get along. Saw Gomes whispering in Leo’s ear last evening after the Little Magician scored his first goal. ^^

Lionel Messi scores his 500th goal to win El Clasico
I LOVE THIS TEAM!
Lionel Messi scored his 46th and 47th goals of the season as FC Barcelona beat Real Madrid 3-2 at the Bernabéu. But it was no easy feat.
Casemiro put Madrid ahead in the 28th minute, but Barcelona was not going to sit down and let their rivals run the show. Messi latches onto a pass from Rakitic and darts pass Carvajal before driving his shot low under Keylor Navas to put Barcelona at 1-1. Casemiro was even lucky to be still on the pitch after bringing down Leo.
The second half was equally fast-paced. Rakitic scored a STUNNER to put Barcelona ahead, but James had other plans when he pulled Madrid equal in the 85th minute after Ramos got sent off for a disgusting tackle on Messi. But Leo was not finished yet. In the 92nd minute, he scored his 500th goal for the club.
Yes, the yellow card was worth it! Leo couldn’t contain his passion and I
And I also want to give kudos to my boy Andre Gomes for his part in Leo’s 500th goal. Gomes is someone I’ve been throwing my support behind since day one because I know what the kid is capable of. He had a good match today and I am pleased. Leo is now the top scorer of El Clasico. He also has the most La Liga goals and assists.
CONGRATS ON YOUR 500TH LEO! HERE’S TO LOTS MORE!
FC Barcelona won 3-0 against Osasuna over the weekend with the opener from Luis and a brace by Messi. However, the talk around town was Lionel Messi’s second goal and if you missed it, have no fear! Relive the beautiful goal below:
Leo doesn’t care how many defenders you throw at him, he’ll dribble pass them with the intention to score. And that final feint before the finish! Brilliant! The way he faked out the defender and the goalie before finding net! I can’t stop watching this goal. This is the Leo I love to see.
When TA Rennes met Vannes OC in the Championnat de France Amateur 2 (CFA 2) last evening, I bet they weren’t expecting Jean-François Bédénik to be a literal wall especially during a crucial penalty save. Vannes won the match 3-0, but I still can’t over the goalie’s Man of the Match performance.
It’s been a while since I’ve done this. A few footballers had a fantastic weekend, including Lionel Messi and James Rodriguez, but this honor goes to Edinson Cavani.
El Matador had a few stressful games with the pressure mounting on his back. He managed to score on PSG’s outing against Arsenal in their 2016/17 Champions League opener, but then he squandered a few chances. Over the weekend, El Matador wasted no time in finding his shooting boots and quieting some loud mouth critics. Sure, it was just Caen he put 4 away against, but the MOST IMPORTANT thing is that he found his target every time. Also, I am LOVING the understanding between Cavani and Thomas Meunier. He finally has a reliable partner.

My favorite #9 was on fire and inspired. He scored his poker inside the first half.
Minute 23 (penalty)
