Mascherano’s first goal is Barcelona’s 100th of the season

“Little Boss” scores his first goal for FC Barcelona

It took him seven years to get his goal, but Javier Mascherano made no mistake when he took the penalty last evening against Osasuna which gave Barcelona their 100th goal of the season. Rakitic revealed that he wanted to take the penalty, but Pique told him to let Masche take in. In the end, Rakitic revealed that he was pleased with the decision.

Last evening, FC Barcelona ran rampant at the Camp Nou winning 7-1 to pile pressure on Real Madrid who has a game inside and won’t be looking to lose anytime soon. The last time Real won the league was back in 2012 and this season, they’re not going to go away quietly. They want the league.

Aside from Mascherano scoring his first goal for Barcelona, Messi, Paco and my boy Gomes scored a brace apiece. Gomes made his haters sit down and some of them even had to admit that he have future FCB potential. This is something that I’ve been saying all along. He has potential. He doesn’t need the silly boos everytime he steps on the pitch in the Catalan stripes. All he needs is confidence and the fans are being hard on him. I am tired of him being the scapegoat. I see pass the incredibly nice hair, the great looks, and contagious smile. I see a player (with lots of potentials. Yes, I am stressing on that ‘p’ word!) whenever I see him step on the pitch.

Gomes was my Man of the Match. I am very pleased with his performance. I was happy when I saw Digne in the starting XI.

And I like the bromance that Gomes and Pique have going on. Pique was the one who told Barcelona boo boys to ‘stay at home’ instead of turning up to boo Gomes. Pique is like his big brother.

I’m a sucker for friendship. 🙂

Lionel Messi scores his 500th goal for FC Barcelona against rivals at the Bernabéu

Lionel Messi scores his 500th goal to win El Clasico

I LOVE THIS TEAM!

Lionel Messi scored his 46th and 47th goals of the season as FC Barcelona beat Real Madrid 3-2 at the Bernabéu. But it was no easy feat.

Casemiro put Madrid ahead in the 28th minute, but Barcelona was not going to sit down and let their rivals run the show. Messi latches onto a pass from Rakitic and darts pass Carvajal before driving his shot low under Keylor Navas to put Barcelona at 1-1. Casemiro was even lucky to be still on the pitch after bringing down Leo.

The second half was equally fast-paced. Rakitic scored a STUNNER to put Barcelona ahead, but James had other plans when he pulled Madrid equal in the 85th minute after Ramos got sent off for a disgusting tackle on Messi. But Leo was not finished yet. In the 92nd minute, he scored his 500th goal for the club.

Yes, the yellow card was worth it! Leo couldn’t contain his passion and I

And I also want to give kudos to my boy Andre Gomes for his part in Leo’s 500th goal. Gomes is someone I’ve been throwing my support behind since day one because I know what the kid is capable of. He had a good match today and I am pleased. Leo is now the top scorer of El Clasico. He also has the most La Liga goals and assists.

CONGRATS ON YOUR 500TH LEO! HERE’S TO LOTS MORE!

FC Barcelona and the greatest comeback in football history

“All the glory and honor to you God. Nothing’s impossible for the one who believes in You.” Neymar

Last evening, FC Barcelona sent the footballing world into a frenzy after pulling off the impossible: overturning a 4-0 deficit in the history of football. No other teams had ever done so previously!

Touted as the greatest comeback in football history, FCB showed the world why they’re FCB. Their 6-1 was a far cry from the 4-0 defeat away to PSG a few weeks ago. With two goals from Neymar, one from Leo, one from Roberto, the opener from Luis and the own goal from Kurzawa, FCB happily booked their ticket to the quarters. Edinson Cavani was the only goal scorer for the Parisien side.

Moment of the week: Murtaza meeting Messi

Football isn’t only about kicking a ball around the pitch for 90 plus minutes to win the game. It’s also about the professional conduct of the players and the little gestures that they show their fans.

Yesterday, six-year-old Murtaza met his hero for the first time and it took social media by storm. It started when a series of tweets showed the little boy playing football in a plastic bag Argentina #10 jersey. This story touched millions of hearts even Leo who wanted to get in touch with the child.

Leo eventually sent Murtaza his national team and club jerseys respectively and they finally met yesterday in Doha where Barcelona was present for a friendly against Al Ahli. Barcelona won 5-3, but the result didn’t matter. At least not for me where little Murtaza was concerned.

Man of the Weekend: Lionel Messi

FC Barcelona won 3-0 against Osasuna over the weekend with the opener from Luis and a brace by Messi. However, the talk around town was Lionel Messi’s second goal and if you missed it, have no fear! Relive the beautiful goal below:

Leo doesn’t care how many defenders you throw at him, he’ll dribble pass them with the intention to score. And that final feint before the finish! Brilliant! The way he faked out the defender and the goalie before finding net! I can’t stop watching this goal. This is the Leo I love to see.

Champions League last 16 draw: Arsenal draws Bayern Munich for the 100th time

It’s getting rather ridiculous now when it comes to Bayern Munich v Arsenal and Barcelona v PSG.

I have been following the CL closely this season and when it boils down to the last 16, given that Bayern Munich didn’t win their group, I just knew they were going to get stuck with Arsenal. I also knew that FC Barcelona was going to play against Paris Saint-Germain.

It’s so predictable, it’s boring now.

Boring that we’ve seen Bayern-Arsenal matches at least 8 times over the last five years. Boring that Real Madrid always seems to get the easiest opponents available. Boring that Barcelona can’t quit PSG. And had Arsenal finished second? They would’ve gotten Barcelona. Another boring fixed rigging.

CL: Barcelona comes from behind to win in Germany

Barcelona stays on top of Group C thanks to goals by Pique and Turan in the second half.

VfL Borussia Moenchengladbach v FC Barcelona - UEFA Champions League

Last evening, Barcelona struggled in the first half to get on the scoresheet when they faced Borussia Monchengladbach in Germany. Thorgon Hazard put Monchengladbach ahead in the 34th minute and Barcelona had to climb from there. They were a mess in the first half. It took Neymar passing the ball behind the defensive line in the 65th minute for Turan to score the equalizer. Nine minutes later, Pique tucked home the winner from a rebound.

Its games like these that I miss Messi’s passing and his gifted vision. Paco Alcacer did not have a good game, but he’ll eventually get there. Leave him, let him struggle for now, for he’ll come out stronger in the end.
